Podcast music “Everlasting Covenant” by Don Rutherford.
Things are not as they were in the Garden of Eden, as God created things to be and perfect fellowship with Him. That was severed because of sin. Jesus came and made a way for us to have a restored relationship with God. And, we await His return when He comes and sets all things right. And we have no reason to have to hope any longer. We have no reason to experience longing, and all things are perfect.
But that day is not today. Right? And so those things that our hearts long for are really to play it all the way out. They are imperfect glimpses of what our ultimate longing is, which is perfect, unhindered fellowship with God.
And so if we see that rightly, I think it helps us understand maybe what God's doing in us as we wait. Because, you know, and I'm sure you would agree, Deborah, the season of waiting that I've experienced on earth has been some of the greatest teachers to me.
