ON THIS HIS WEEKS BEHOLD-HER BEAUTY NEWSLETTER
Dear friend,
In the inbetween, where Summer bids adieu and Autumn beckons this way…. I am drawn to capture its beauty, but can I?
I want to strive yet dance with abandon and then focus on the tasks at hand (oh, sometimes this feels like molasses). I guess there is just so much excitement with the changes in season.
Can we contain ourselves?
But, yes, we can. I cherish God's 'buts' as they divinely align us with Him. Helping us navigate the inbetween with joy and purpose.
In my prayer time, God met me and said, "Deborah, settle down. I've got this. Rest with me, dance with me, paint with me, and BUILD with me for the inbetween of life leads to the next step on MY Holy ground.
In Chapter 7 of 1 Kings in the Bible, I read about Solomon's building of the Temple and other buildings, and I wondered how this applied to me. I have learned that God always has a lesson for me in my daily reading of Scripture.
Here, we learn Solomon built grand, beautiful buildings, including the Temple. He also constructed his home, the House of the Forest of Lebanon; the Hall of Pillars, a hall for the throne; the Hall of Judgment; and the House of the Pharaoh's Daughter.
This had me pondering as the Lord laid upon my heart this question:
How are the buildings that I am building? Here, 'buildings' are a metaphor for the actions and decisions we make in our lives, such as our homes, nurturing relationships, developing our talents and gifts, and managing our resources. When we look at our 'buildings,' they should be for God's Kingdom, reflecting Him and His divine plan.
So instead of pining, worrying, and fretting, God redirected me back to Him and His divine plan and all this building that I am doing and that you are doing—that we do for His glory.
In prayer, we can ask our Heavenly Father to help us steward the gifts, talents, resources, and calling He has given us well, only buildings for His Kingdom and Treasury. As we talk to our Father, we should never be afraid to express our concerns, fears, or doubts, and it is here where we can seek His wisdom in every part of our lives. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
So all the work that King Solomon had done for the house of the Lord was finished; and Solomon brought in the things which his father David had dedicated: the silver and the gold and the furnishings. He put them in the treasuries of the house of the Lord. 1 Kings 7:1 NKJV
In today's Newsletter, you will find a little nostalgia, my struggles, and my attempt to lasso endless beauty; I created some poetry snapshots from images I captured on my phone.
How is your 'inbetween' unfolding? Have you discovered any 'Poetry Snapshots' in your own life? I'd love to hear about them.
May your day be blessed, and with a whole lot of Jesus, we'll get there.
Blessings and love, Deborah
